‘Amazing’ Traffic Idea

November 19, 2008 by jp

With the economy on everyone’s mind and the holidays and New Year quickly approaching, it’s the perfect time to think about something “amazing” for your website. You may recall from a September 14 posting on this blog that including something “amazing” on your website is one way to attract a crowd. People want to know something new and fantastic and now is a good time to give it to them.

There is so much negative news about the economy and people are starved for good news. The recent months of political bantering have worn many people down. They are desperate for some good news. So think of ways to give it to them!

Consider an interesting headline: “Economic Crisis Creates Stress” - for a website that offers products and services related to stress management, Yoga, ‘comfort’ foods, low-price gifts and ideas, homemade remedies for various things that can save people money, or other products. It is a timely headline and with your site content, you can make it clear that you are offering a respite from the stress and anxiety associated with the financial situation.  You could promote your products as an incredible temporary relief from the day to day stresses of the economy - AMAZING! Your online business probably offers various types of products that can be used as stress relief/management tools and you can capitalize on them by connecting them to the current situation.

For example, include 10 tips on how to manage stress in tough economic times along with an offer of a free stress relief product when visitors register for your newsletter.  Offer a free report on ’saving money’ that includes information on where to find discount coupons and free shipping information.  Or include links to such sites on your website. People will certainly return for more information later - repeat visitors!

Imagine how many people are searching for “economic crisis”!

Consider your business, your products, and your website. What do you have to offer?

  1. Is there something “amazing” about a product or service that can really help people in the current environment?
  2. Can you offer them an “amazing” deal when they purchase over the next 30 days to relieve some of their financial woes?
  3. Can you give them a free gift when they order now to increase your value to them and strengthen your relationship?
  4. Do your products offer some “amazing” relief from the stresses and anxiety of what’s going on in the world?
  5. Is there a way to describe your products or business more effectively that gives people a greater sense of confidence about themselves - thereby increasing their outlook on life?

There are many things that can be promoted and marketed as “amazing”. Just don’t overdo it and don’t use the word “amazing” in every sentence you write.  Rather than telling them how amazing you or your products are, help your customers see the value of your products through your product descriptions, special offers, and fresh information. Promote the value and benefits, and tell people what’s in it for them. Use your autoresponder to send out postive messages that draw the potential customers to your website and then engage them by giving them helpful information and special offers that are attractive at the current time.

Attract a crowd by including valuable information and relevant keywords for searches that have them landing on your site. Evaluate your keywords and then see if they need updating. Consider what people are searching for in these times of economic turmoil, bank failings, auto industry upsets, and other areas of the economy. Is there a way to tie these things to something positive on your site? People are searching for information on “economy” every day - can you use this as a way to draw them to your site for relief from their anxieties?

Online business ventures are not a static process. It is very dynamic and requires continual updating and refinement of your website content, keywords, meta-tags, and other things that attract a crowd. Stay current and consider what your customers are searching for - but don’t forget to consider what else is concerning to them and try to find a way to connect your website in a way that helps relieve those concerns. They’ll see more value in what you have to offer and your relationship will be stronger than ever!
